Fots and I have made it a 2 time, different years, search for the stairway coming down into the 92nd Garage from the 92nd P.S. Barracks above and to the east. This year was one of them.
We have found sections of the sidewalks and steps on the hillside above 92nd, ending in ruins on the steep hillside.
At one time there were two sidewalk branches, one coming from building #600 (Administration building 92nd C.A., (P.S.) Philippine Scouts).
The other sidewalk was coming from building #603 (Barracks 92nd C.A., P.S.), further to the south and next to #602, another similar barracks.
These 2 concrete sidewalks came together on the hillside, we found the junction, and continue down, but this is where they disappear, again, in ruins.
They were narrow but well made.
This hillside is very interesting for many reasons, but not an easy area to explore, steep and thorny thickets.
The hillside, immediately below the road, where the steps may have come off the hill, is very steep and no steps have been found in that area. I haven't anyway.
The drawing you posted, (great posts by the way), shows a sidewalk and steps, drawn going into 92nd further down the hill.
It makes sense they would have put them there requiring the soldiers to simply walk down the road for a time, after leaving the stairway from above the road, and then into 92nd.
That would have been a healthy walk for those Scouts, long and steep.
BUT......... the map shows the sidewalk going straight over the road and down..................from the one above the road.
A sidewalk to find unless Fots beats me to it.
Where is the Testimony and the map from?
The testimony coo-berates other information but raises some new points.
Thanks again, more pieces to the puzzle.
