Looking at the photo of Mariveles, here is another area which has changed remarkably. While the town of Mariveles is situated in the same location, it has of course grown immensely and I note that the Mariveles river is now called the Santol, and the Pucot river is now called Bulok. Why they so often change the names of streets and rivers and even towns in PI, I will never understand. The large undeveloped area to the left of the town in the photo has changed the most and is now totally developed with industrial and other structures. It does appear on satellite pictures that some vestige of the Navy pier still remains as does the quarry. Has anyone done an in depth study of what remains of the old Mariveles area?

Great photos, Karl.
The photo showing the Dewey dry dock in Mariveles Harbor is dated October 1941, which clears up a small mystery for me. Some sources state the dry dock was towed from Subic Bay to Mariveles just after the war began, other sources say it was towed in July 1941. Now I know which is correct.
