Gun Battery Hulu BCN-303 at Puu-O-Hulu, Oahu in Hawaii
Puu-O-Hulu is a separate hill, ridgeline and is part of the Waianae Range on Oahu Island. Since the 1920s it was part of the Puu-O-Hulu Military Reservation and Coastal Artillery Observation post were built on top for triangulation for the big gun batteries south and west.
In WWII on the west foot of Puu-O-Hulu a two-gun 7-inch gun battery was established, called Battery Hulu. In 1944 it was decided to convert the battery to more modern 6-inch guns. Tunnels were bored and the battery was known as Battery Control Number (BCN) 303. The war ended and it was never finished.
This album is about the batteries and not the observation stations on top of the ridge.
I uploaded about 99 images into two separate albums, take you pick:

Here are three URLs with sample images from the web about the PUU-O-Hulu Military Reservation; they are interesting: The last two are URLs and I recommend them strongly to look at. The 1st one is a book which I do have.
