Thanks, on this Veterans Day 2012, to all the Vets and Non-Vets who frequent this board. The information you all share here insures that the great sacrifices made by the men of Corregidor and Bataan will never be forgotten.
While viewing a series of beautiful photos recently posted here, it occurred to me that without the included narrative one would never think that a great battle was fought on that location that significantly changed the course of world history. And I thought how easy - and how convenient for some - to forget the men who fought those battles.
Keep up the good work, all.

I second the Thanks to all those who own, moderate and contribute to the site. There is no other like it and hopefully due to the efforts of those intrepid explorers who do so much out in the field, the battles of the Philippines will never be forgotten. As can be seen, we getting ever closer to identifying and recording the actual locations of where the many battles took place. I hope that soon we all will know as much of the Philippines and its history during the war as that of Europe and that these locations may be protected in the future.

Hey John/CB....I "second" your motions. The defenders of the PI paid a dear price for our unpreparedness, but they fought the good fight (as did the defenders of Wake Island), but were doomed from the start. Their sacrifices should never be forgotten as those involved in subsequent battles/campaigns,etc, should not be forgotten, but the men, "hung out on the Philippine "limb", half way around the world, facing the inevitable, are just special in my mind. Cheers.

I "third" you all for all the efforts and contribution. The web was not enough with my fascination about WWII in the Philippines until I discovered this forum. Philippines WWII history lives in this forum.
