Fots2 in action, our trip into history.
These pictures are added so that we don’t forget fots2.
V253, John and I are on the low Nasugbu Point Ridge, he is checking his GPS devise. Many reports say when the Allied landed on the Nasugbu Beach, 31 Jan.1945, there was no resistance. But that is not true. I documented in my thread that machinegun fire was received from this ridge or near this ridge and it was silenced by Navy rocket ships. People showed us WWII Japanese tunnels in this ridge from where the Japanese could observe the landing. A Japanese monument existed on this ridge at the point end, vandals or gold diggers destroyed it and John, aka fots2, is standing near the destroyed Japanese monument.
V254. One elderly Filipino offered to show us the Japanese tunnels in the Nasugbu Point ridge and we looked at 2 or 3, I forgot now. Here the Tunnel Rat fots2 is leading the way.
V255. One of our goals was to check out Mt. Macolod. It is located at the SE side of Taal Lake. Fots2 gathered information and a map of the heavy fighting that had occurred here. Barangay Dita perhaps was the center of the Japanese resistance and we went there. And in the Philippines it is almost always possible to find Filipino volunteers to give us information and they were more than willing to show us the former Japanese tunnels. Here is fots2 with our Filipino volunteers near a former Japanese tunnel on Mt. Macolod.
V256. Here is fots2 and one of our volunteer guides in one of the tunnels. I believe we looked at four but there are more. This one of the former Japanese tunnels on the NE slopes of Mt. Macolod.

On these dates John Moffitt and I checked out the village south of Carabao Island to see about future transportation to there and Limbones Isl. In the process we went to Nasugbu, Sta. Mercedes, and the new tunnel, Ternate, Pico de Loro, the Marine Base, Naic and Maragondon.

After our exploration trip into this area in October, John and I returned to check out things a little closer. We looked at the Japanese gun in Pico de Loro Cove, Nasugbu Point were the Japanese were dug in and Mt. Bacolod, another place the Japanese defended in depth.
