Philippine American WWII POW/MIA Research Group
In view of the technical nature of this board, we are about to rearrange access and membership rules to this group. We want to add a "specialist" area of members, yet allow all interested persons - specialist or otherwise - to have posting rights in the open area.

Hello Registrar
What will be the purpose of the Specialist designation and what will be the criteria for it?
Regards

It was just a grab-bag designation of their own special interest. I have been copied in on their private correspondence for a while, and much of it is somewhat technical and not of great interest to the general readership. There's long lists, rosters. I was experimenting with whether I could give them a custom meeting place. No vast right-wing conspiracy here, sorry.

Oh, not even one thought of conspiracy here. I was just curious as to what you had in mind. Criteria, duties, intended benefits, etc. Your post was sufficiently vague as to peak my curiosity,,,, and lets face it, curiosity is the coin of the realm on this site.
Not to mention the fact that as far as chain of command goes, you are top dog here. When you talk, I listen.

Laughing out loud on your comment about curiosity being coin of the realm here.
I was being vague because I hadn't thought it all through at the time, and was thus vaguely expressing my "vagueossity" (vaguessness?) and wasn't sure that what I thought I wanted to do could be done through the tools that proboards software makes available.
The sub-board is my first try to establish a group that is behind a password entry system. I am starting to ponder if there's any point in using that arrangement at all. Time will tell.
