Chad had this brought to his attention today and showed it to me. I thought we all need to see this even though it is not Philippine related.
From what I understand, these men, except for Ens George Gay were all killed within hours of this being filmed.
This was shown to the families at a later time.
May they all be at peace.

Ensign Gay used to do the airshows circuit back I the 1980's, selling signed autographs and copies of his books. I had a friend who had flown with Gay, as a gunner. Gay's book was a good read, and when I had cause to sell my library, his book was one of the few I kept. Other aces and authors would also do the airshows, selling merchandise and signing stuff, and I recall that Pappy Boyington also was there. There was an issue, apparently, with another pilot/author who also had a table there selling his book, a fellow I seem to recall named Mike Kawato, a Japanese who had claimed he'd shot Pappy down. For obvious reasons, the Confederate Air Force didn't put Kawato's table anywhere near Boyington's. I got to meet Bob Stanford Tuck and Adolf Galland, and found Galland a most interested fellow. On one occasion, my father was in the company of Francis Gabreski, the well known WWII and Korean Ace, and I asked him what they talked about. MY dad said they traded stories about raising kids, because they discovered they each had raised six children. Gabreski, so I was told, wasn't always popular with his men, and I legend had it that he was not shot down by a German, but by his wingman. Oh well, those were the days!
