Hello Folks, I found these photos at the National Archives, I'm pretty sure its Battery Monja at the end of the war. Has anyone seen this before? The RADAR in Monja is an old set of photos, that I'm pretty sure I posted before.

Very interesting! As far as I know, the only casemated 155mm GPF on Corregidor was in Monja, so this photo seems to fit the bill.

I pretty sure it's Monja, I have a couple more pics of the RADAR the japanese had in Monja..I'll get around to posting them. Right now I scanning around 100 engineer drawings of the batteries, searchlights, fire control structures..most too large to fit on a regular scanner (2x3) or so....

Roger, what a great find!!! I don't think there's any doubt that it is Monja. I notice the breech block is in place. Whether it's the original, or from another gun, we'll never know. I've always wondered whether the Japanese were able to get the gun in working order. In the retaking of Corregidor several sources note a troublesome gun in a concrete lined cave firing on the Navy ships. I've always wondered if that was Monja, as I know of no other concrete lined tunnel.

Looking forward to more pics. If there is a shot taken from the rear I would like to see. Originally Monja had a well as the gun was mounted on top of a concrete pedestal. It was said that the Japanese covered this with a concrete during the occupation.
