Corregidor, a list of some of what I find useful, in no particular order.
Leather gloves for all!
Augmentin-basic antibiotic tablet form prescription in states, not in P.I.
Neosporin- topical antibiotic
Band-aids-various sizes
Swim Ear kills bacteria in the water in your ears from swimming, showering etc.
Tweezers
Hand Sanitizer
Q-tips and Cotton balls
Diaperene (brand name)- for chafing of course, in baby aisle, bring from states, not available in P.I..
Baby powder, buy in P.I. better there than here
Imodium- in case the water doesn’t agree with you or other things
Bottled Water- buy there
Insect repellant- never needed it on the rock
Sun block- strong stuff 50 in good
Visine
Aleve or your brand of aspirin
Extra glasses or contacts
Shampoo’s and soaps and most other toiletries buy in P.I., good stuff there and saves packing weight
Extra shoestrings
Raincoat/poncho-bring
Umbrella- buy there
Water bottles-refillable
Swiss army knife
Good tennis shoes, crappy tennis shoes to get wet and muddy
Leather boots or combat boots for jungle walking
Long tough pants, denim is good, long sleeve shirts and good sweat absorbing cloths
A hat with a brim all around-stops stuff falling down your neck and keeps the hot sun off your neck
Machete- heavy steel with wooden scabbard from the P.I. not cheap U.S. type
Bamboo pole 6 ft long- found on the south beach, helps stabilize your walking and keeps critters at least 6 ft. away
Cell phone-in case you need help, a whistle also not a bad idea
A large, solid, “BRIGHT” flashlight to visit caves and tunnels
Ziplock bags-all sizes to store stuff against humidity
Camera and Binoculars
Magnifying glass, and sunglasses
Dried fruit, Beef jerky
Energy bars- Cliff bars, Power bars Very important item, and you will walk yourself to death without even knowing it.
Strong light weight backpack with lots of pockets
What else does anyone else recommend?
