Hi...my grandfather passed away and was a member of the 31st infantry that fought in the Phillipines during WW2 in 1942. Could he have been in the battle of Bataan? If so what was it like? I have read different accounts on-line and I don't quite understand. Some sat the US won by keeping the Japs out of the Phillipines but others say they lost, thus the Bataan Death March occured. Could anyone help me understand? His name was Jesse Day and he was from Maryland, trained in Hawaai. Anyone out there know of him? Thanks for any ehlp you can offer.
