I just wanted to comment on this website - I happened upon it while doing a narrative paper for my college English class. I am nearly 40 yrs. old and have begun a career goal to complete college to obtain a nursing degree.
I chose the Island of Corregidor to do a story on as a first person because I was blessed with the opportunity during my Senior year at George Dewey High School in Subic Bay, RP to attend with my classmates, a trip to Corregidor. The photos I have enjoyed on this site have brought back so many memories of that trip and that time in my life.
The trip was in the early spring on 1983 and it made such an impression on my soul that even 21 years later I can recall so many of the experiences of that entire trip.
Thank you so much for such a beautiful trip back down memory lane and I would also like anyone who reads this to understand that the war memorial is a structure that places a lasting memory on ones mind, once visited. The photos are beautiful, but there's nothing to compare to actually visiting this memorial and experiencing it for yourself - it is an extremely difficult feeling to describe in words how this structure makes you feel when you step inside it - I've been to many memorials around the pacific (including Iwo Jima) and nothing compares to Corregidor's memorial - it's just beyond descriptive words.
Thanks for the memories. Bonnie Tauscher-Harrell

Bonnie,
Corregidor can be curious in the way its can weave a spell so strong that numerous years later it still compels thoughts.
Thanks for dropping by.
