Nice Army.
Lets see who we can excite with the following..............
My son knows how I like World War II history so he bought me a canteen cup, canteen missing.
The cup is clearly factory etched on the bottom U.S. 1942.
He was in one of my favorite places on earth, (it's still there but has been ruined by flooding due to hurricanes twice recently), Colonel Bubbies Army Navy Store in Galveston, Texas. Items from ANY Army--- Navy in the world may be found there at any time, or not.
The cup is etched by it's owner?, no name?, some fraudster? with the following.
(I may not get the order correct but will try, his spelling, ALL IN CAPS..)
AFRICA SICILY ITLY ROME NAPLES ANZIO CASINO SALARNE CAPRI IRELAND ENGLAND BELGUM HOLLAND PARIS MUNICH COLMAR GERMANY FRANCE AUSTRIA SCOTLAND
Letters M. K. scratched above the handle.
The printing starts out well ordered but gets out of line and somewhat incoherent as it goes. Appears to have been scratched in haphazardly, lots of little divots in each letter, like a sawtooth impression.
Sorry no picture, I'm not that capable as yet.
The handle is not rusted at all, still opens to be the handle of the drinking cup.
Historic or not?
