A frined of mine has asked me a question I do not know the answer to. I was hoping someone here can help.
"What patch would pre-war AAF units wear in the Philippines? Army Air Corps "pinwheel" or Philippine Department"
Thanks Dan

Here are some pins used by the predecessor of the Philippine Army Air Corps: They are the Philippine National Guard (PNG) and Philippine Air Service. ...will look for the PAAC insignias later.. Tony

Thanks batteryboy. Here is my dilemma, My buddy has this jacket and we can not figure out what patch goes on it. The jacket is mid-late 1930's and I should add that khaki cotton jackets were removed as authorized wear in 1939. Also, only Philippine-made khaki cotton jackets (private purchase) had cloth belt-holder tabs. All the rest had metal belt hooks. So, this jacket is definitely Philippine and definitely pre-war. What patch goes on the sleeve? You can clearly see the outline of the old patch. Any educated guesses? Attachments:

It matched the shape of the Philippine Division earless carabao patch so I restored it: lh5.googleusercontent.com/-UrkHFSiC18I/TY0rO3z4LiI/AAAAAAAAAL4/iAKbvK_BXSA/s1600/08b.jpg
