RANDOM IMAGES OF BATTERY GEARY 15TH FEB 2012 WITH CDSG.
These are random images of Battery Geary from a visit to Corregidor Island with the Coastal Defense Study Group People (CDSG) on 15th Feb. 2012. These pictures are numbered H1 to H9 and were put into this album:

W220 (H1) a view from under the collapsed #3 magazines across the whole battery towards the # 1 magazines. This is Battery Geary, Fort Mills on Corregidor Island, a direct hit by Japanese artillery on the 2nd May 1942 and blew up the #2 magazines and destroyed the battery.
W221 (H2) is a close-up of the last image #H1 and it shows a view across the blown up middle section of Battery Geary and the area of Pit A and the #1 magazines with the CDSG visitors checking things out at the battery.
W222 (H3) I like this shot; it shows the heavy growth of trees on top of #3 magazines, the left side of the battery. This is Battery Geary, Fort Mills on Corregidor Island, a direct hit by Japanese artillery on the 2nd May 1942 and blew up the #2 magazines.
W223 (H4) this shot shows how large Battery Geary was, left, and that is left of #3 magazines, there were a number of utility spaces. This is Battery Geary, Fort Mills on Corregidor Island. These pictures #H1 to H9 were shot on the 15th Feb. 2012.
W224 (H5) the utility spaces I described in the last image #H4 extend a little further in the direction towards Battery Crockett. And there is a sign describing the history of the battery, it was provided by the CDSG and Valor Tours.
W225 (H6) the plaque or sign that tells the history of Battery Geary, it was put up by the Coastal Defense Study Group (cdsg.org) and the Valor Tour Org. in 1991. It lasted at least 21 years and I assume it is still in place in 2015.
W226 (H7) this is a view from the top of Gun Pit A, Battery Geary, Ft. Mills on Corregidor Island. The near gun has still a life round in its barrel. These pictures #H1 to H9 were shot on the 15th Feb. 2012.
W227 (H8) this is an intact vent of the No. 1 magazines, Battery Geary, Ft. Mills on Corregidor Island. No. 1 magazines are next to the two guns in the last picture H7. And in this magazine soldiers had to be rescued when trapped by the 2nd May 1942 explosion.
W228 (H9) this is the view from the top of Gun Pit B, Battery Geary, Ft. Mills on Corregidor Island. Two guns got thrown underneath the No. 3 magazines and are holding up the ceiling cover at right.
