Hello MK Smith,,,,, and welcome
You are correct the work that these guys do on this forum is stellar and exemplary. Every time I am here I marvel at the extent of their knowledge of this island and it's place in history.
May I please inquire as to who your relative is who is buried in Manila? Upon my next visit I will pay my respects.
Do you know much about him? I would very much like to learn more about him.
I will now visit your blogspot, I hope to hear from you.

Hey Gents;
That resort at Fort Wint looks real cozy. Is it still running? Is it worth the trip to stay there to see the fortifications, or just do a day trip? Or has it gone the way of the resort on Corregidor?
And what the hell is a 'Hash House Harrier'?

Hello Registrar
Part of your post on 3/14/14 stated;
"Donating the items to the museum at BALANGA is a brilliantly noteworthy solution to any allegations of improper relic hunting. I hope that the museum adopts a practice of issuing a "Certificate of Appreciation" to its donors, so that your paperwork protects you."
Protects you? Protects you from whom or what? Is this an esoteric reference or is this in fact something that can actually land you in jail?
On my two visits to Corregidor I lamented the fact that I thought the items on display at the museum on top side were sparse considering what went on there and what must surely remain just under the surface or what could be donated to display from private collections. I had thought on my subsequent visits I would actively look for relics and upon finding them donate them to the museum there, for as Bob Hudson had so dutifully noted, what good are they doing in a box that will probably end up in a dump when I am gone?
But if it is something that is actually in violation of the law, I of course will not engage in that activity as I have managed to stay out of jail for my entire life so far, thank you very much, and wish to continue that streak till "flies crawl on my eyeballs" (paraphrased from CORREGIDOR, THE ROCK FORCE ASSAULT,Gen Flanagan).
Was that an exaggeration, Registrar? Do I have anything to fear about this? I am still very new to this site and subject matter and yield to our more experienced members knowledge.
Please advise

Then Armyjunk 68 is probably right on the money as the matting being used on the beaches as ANY military vehicle larger than a jeep would tear the beach a new A$$ hole

Hello EXO
Very good sir, thank you. You are correct, the L-4 would not need the matting, just fill in the craters and smooth it out a little.
Any idea where the landing strip was?

Could the Marsdon Matting also have come from the fabled, yet still undiscovered temporary airfield on topside? possible connection to two Corregidor mysteries

Hi Phantom
Yes, I can see why you capitalized "THE NAVY RESCUED 16 TROOPERS BLOWN INTO THE BAY". Correct me if I'm wrong (have been before) but to my knowledge, (the most limited of anyone on this site) no one in the 503rd wound up in the bay, correct? I think I read that a couple landed below the cliffs and swam out to the boats, but no one landed in water.
The 13.7 percent casualty rate seems close by other accounts. Your thoughts?

Hello again, EXO
Just finished reading that article by David Solway and I must say, rarely do you see the issue of the left so accurately dissected and verbalized. His discourse is so fascinating and rapier wit so devastating to the mindset of the left, one need not wonder why he is not more widely known as the media is "owned" by the left.
And your call on raven316 is spot on. The left cannot debate the issues from a factual or logical standpoint, so therefore, must childishly resort to personal attacks, as outlined by Mr. Solway. I am sure you and anyone reading this did not miss the fact that raven316, when told to "play the ball, not the man", was unable to respond.
Sorry for dredging up posts from the distant past but as you know, I am new here and am having a ball going through all the posts I can and sometimes, like this one, I feel compelled to answer.
BTW, how did you get the monicker EXO?
