Yeah, that blue paint is trashy, isn't it! Don't those people have access to one decent Hollywood-type scenery painter who can make the blue disappear?

When I visit Corregidor, the Cine is one of my favorite POIs. I too imagine folks from a faraway time, buying a coke and some popcorn to watch the latest western or drama! It is a long time since I have visited Corregidor, I hope the "restoration" is limited to arresting any further decay, as we see on the attached photos above.
HHmmmm... 25mn... seems like a lot to brace up the walls... wish they could invest some money into the infrastructure needed to get to/from the island. I would like to bring my scout troop on a regular basis, even maybe adopt some projects for our troop to contribute their time on, but hey, it is really tough to get there for kids on a regular basis...

See that all four high walls are standing. (photo courtesy Chad Hill) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Corregidor Foundation Incorporated (CFI) received monies from the Philippine Government in 2012 and was able to contract out the reinforcement of the cine walls. A major portion of the cine south wall had collapsed and it seemed only a matter of time before more damage would occur until only a heap of rubble would remain. Fort Mills Cine on Corregidor Island Feb. 2024 While visiting Corregidor Island I had a chance to shoot these pictures on the 16th Feb. 2024 of the former Fort Mills Cine, located on Corregidor Island at Topside. I believe it is still in the same shape as in 2013, after the structure was reinforced with steel frames. The strong blue color of the steel then has blended in and is not noticeable anymore. The same picture description for all 16 images! This is one of several images, shot on the 16th Feb. 2024 of the former Fort Mills Cine, located on Corregidor Island at Topside. Hi KARL, really appreciate your dedication and work on this project. For some reason I couldn't find the picture (#69) of the roadhouse. Keep up the good work.

At the beginning of the first page of this thread announcing the governments intentions to restore Cine, there is a nice picture of Cine Corregidor from it's glory days and as can be seen it has a flat surface facade.
But now can be seen the rounded structure in the front resembling a ticket counter of some sorts.
Does anyone know when this rounded structure in the front was added?
