Just received this from Dwight Rider. He bought some material from a guy on Ebay and this movie ticket is one item from the purchase. Attachments:

Hey Bob....A most intriguing item, I gotta say. Priceless to Corregidor "Geeks", methinks. It would be very interesting to know the fate of Lt Miller and Pfc Bullock. I was also interested in the fact that there were THREE Cine Theatres, Topside, Middleside, and Bottomside. I am always learning something on this Forum. A week seldom goes by that something such as this pops up. Thanks for posting. I have always heard that the flick, "Sergeant York", was the final movie to grace the silver screen of the Cine and that Dec7 (maybe Dec 8 Manila Time) was the last time one could take in a movie and chomp a sack of popcorn. Cheers.

No record of LT Miller, but Bullock got a vacation in Manchuria at Club Hoten. Survived the war to return to his native Utah.

Frederick A. Miller died on the Arisan Maru 10/24/1944. Thomas S. Bullock went to Manchuria on the Tottori Maru 10/8/1942 and was imprisoned at Mukden. Cannot say if he survived the war. I was not aware of there being three Cinemas on Corregidor either. My guess is Bullock mailed the Cine ticket home prior to the war to show how well he had it on Corregidor. We both learned that tickets purchased were good for six months.

Hey Bob...Thanks a bunch for supplying the info on those two unfortunates. Man, you obviously have an extensive collection of information as pertains to Corregidor and the 1942 PI Campaign. We are all grateful for your always interesting contributions. My drivel is minute compared to good stuff such as yours. I am going to make a SWAG concerning those two "extra" Cine theatres. I betcha they were, no way, in the same "league" as the "Queen" up on Topside. Probably located in some "rec" hall type locale. The one down on Bottomside probably also served as the local "flick" for San Jose barrio. All this is SWAG on my part, of course. That free pass, though, is a unique piece of Corregidor lore. Cheers.

Okla, thanks but I'm just a collector. I have a very big historical vacuum cleaner that sucks up anything that looks remotely interesting. Now if I could ever organize it, that would be something. You've probably forgotten more about Corregidor than I know. My father used to tell me that there's a reason why we have two ears and one mouth. I took that to heart and I listen and watch with two eyes and speak little. That keeps me from making too big a fool of myself.

The only theater that I know off is the one at Topside, I wonder where the other two are located.

Do you know of any Corregidor veterans who would know how many theaters were on the Island? What was the normal number of soldiers stationed on Corregidor prior the the start of hostilities? If there were normally thousands on the Island then that would explain the need for more than one theater. Perhaps one played strictly movies in Tagalog.

At Bottomside in Barrio San Jose is a building labeled on maps as “Cine – Private”. Zg690. San Jose Movie, map. Map showing the Bottomside Cine. Zg689. Movie in San Jose. Photo of the Bottomside Cine taken from Malinta Hill I knew there were two Cinemas on Corregidor but the third one at Middleside is a surprise to me. I do not see any building labeled as such. I wonder if a Cine would have been in the large building known by several names (Army Service Club, Enlisted Men’s Club or YMCA). That is only a guess. Someone else may know where the Middleside Cine was located. Zg688 YMCA, Corregidor. The YMCA building at Middleside.

It seems we are all going through a learning curve. Do you think there could have been a cine in the Y?
