Not sure anyone is interested, but I have a collection of Ft. Mills death cards. Some ninety photos all together. Some photos have two deaths cards and some single death cards. Each death was inspected and cause of death was written with names and unit numbers if possible. Death cards were signed by a physician or an orderly in the medical detachment. This collection is surely not all the deaths that occurred over the five months. Many of the cards have gruesome causes of death, overwhelmingly loss of the entire head/ decapitation or partial loss of the head. Almost exclusively from artillery but some from bombs. One was a self inflicted fatal wound to the chest. One a Chinese mess cook. How he died, I'm not sure. Maybe taking a smoke break outside the tunnel. I have attached one example of the 90 some photos. Not sure how to send all the photos to this board except piece meal but that would be too much. Perhaps burn CD and mail them to whoever manages this board. I live in Limay Bataan so if anyone is in the immediate area, I could perhaps deliver the files to you. I am leaving for the U.S. for two weeks on July 1st. Attachments:

Wow, Bob where did the cards come from? I have not forgotten you. Will be on Trail #2, Bataan Battle Field, tomorrow but will have no time to go further south. Another time for our meet!

Bob,
I am the forum administrator, website purveyor, misdesigner, code goat, whipping boy and all around kitshicker here. I am in a position to host images of these cards, though unfortunately am not in Manila at present. The area of expertise is not mine, but I venture there will be a few people who may PM you for your e-mail address, and who ill want to get involved.
A good place to start will be a CD. I suspect a few CD's actually, because although this area of expertise is not mine, I venture there will be a few people who may PM you for your e-mail address during the nest few days.
Are these cards anywhere else on the internet? What do you know of their provenance?
The mere fact that they are deaths which happened on Corregidor qualifies them to be hosted here. This has turned into a bit of a "build it and they will come" exercise, and thus I have met a swell bunch of dedicated people.

A few weeks ago, chadhill started a thread about Corregidor cemeteries and burials. Then wwalker mentioned that he had obtained a large number of burial cards. And, of course, I'm the unofficial finder of (at least looker for) unknowns. So we all started working together to record as many deaths and burials as we could.
So far we've collected nearly 500 Corregidor deaths and edited them against various databases I've collected like ABMC and NARA. This allows us to correct the spelling and transcription errors which are common in records of this sort. It also identifies the unknowns and is a step toward finding their remains.
If anyone else has any records of deaths or burials - Corregidor or elsewhere in the PI - please contact me so we can all share this information. And if anyone is a real glutton for punishment and would like to help transcribe this type of stuff we'd like to hear from you, too. It is tedious, but a first step in accounting for these guys and getting a handle on the number of casualties.
Best,
John

Death Cards came from Roger Mansells collection. I have some massive files from him. Death Cards are just some. I have 59th, 60th and 200th rosters I believe but can't remember for sure. Just too much to go through. I still have photos from my trip to NARA in 2008 that I have yet to get to. I took some 2800 digital photos of files in 2008. I am not a computer guru and have yet to figure out how to use ftp software to transfer the large amount of data that I have to John Eakin. Bear with this old carcass!

More valuable information to the puzzle that was war-torn Corregidor. I look forward to more interesting and factual history Mr Hudson.
Conserving such tangible history of those who died in 1942 Corregidor would go far to making sure their contribution to the fight against Imperial Japan is not forgotten.
Thanks for your efforts, and all others involved.
