I have completed an updated edition of Al McGrew's book, boosting it to 300 pages (from 280) by the addition of 20 more photo spreads of pre-war Corregidor. The onrush of technology has necessitated an updating of the eBook version, and the additional pages have not resulted in the price increase. At this point, the book is still available only for the apple-based machines. I now have managed to get one of these and cannot believe the impressive clarity that they bring to the text, and the reproduction of the images. The previews are impressive, and the e-Book experience really enhances the reading pleasure. Al's story is unlike many of the POW stories published before, because he managed to remain unremittingly positive throughout the years, even in the midst of the worst that humanity managed to inflict upon the hapless prisoner victims. It really was as if, no matter how vile the storm raged everywhere around him, fate placed him in the calmness of it's eye.
