I have come across this website "Ghost Of Bataan" this is mostly about the exploits of the late M.Sgt Abie Abraham (died March 12,2012) a Bataan survivor of Death March and was liberated by the rangers at Cabanatuan..As the story goes that he was also tasked by Gen MacArthur to stayed behind to disinterred bodies of American Soldiers who died along the way of the death march..There was an article that during his worked to find bodies a Filipino- Japanese native notified him about 150 Japanese soldiers still in the hills of Orani Bataan willing to surrender...This was a year after the Japanese surrendered...! It was surprising as there were not much written articles about the event I could imagined that even the war has ended a year before these Japanese may have done some more damages as in my opinion they did some more crimes say killing a farmer for stealing food?Or accidentally chanced upon them? Maybe that's why they contacted the American thru the Sgt.(a tank company was about 40 miles away)and they used their trucks to ferry these men to safety and avoid Filipino reprisals..

Hey Fortune....Interesting story. I have heard of a few Japanese holdouts turning up in the Southern Islands, but none on Bataan, although I suppose those rugged mountains running down the spine of the Peninsula would have been a good hiding area. Personally, I see nothing amiss about turning these holdouts over to Filipino justice. Again, just my humble. Cheers.
