While doing some research, I came across the obituary for Marvin Walker, 503d Company H.
It reads as follows:
Shawnee resident Marvin Walker, 85, died Tuesday, March 1, at his home in Shawnee. He was born Nov. 4, 1919, in Shawnee to Benjamin and Dora (Benson) Walker. He graduated from Shawnee High School.
Walker was an engineering draftsman at Tinker Air Force Base.
On June 6, 1947, he married Beulah E. Puckeshino.
He served in the U.S. Army, Co. H 503D Parachute Infantry Regiment. During World War II, he made three combat jumps: Nadzab, New Guinea, Noemfoor, Dutch New Guinea and Corregidor "The Rock," Philippines.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Evans, Bill, Harry, Williard and Luther; four sisters, Mabel, Frances, Nancy and Edith; wife, Beulah; and sons, Barry, Robert and Billy.
Survivors include five sons, Larry Walker, Elmer Walker, Mike Pequano and David Wakolee all of Shawnee, and Curtis Pequano of Kingston; two daughters, Jeanette Walker and Mary Carter both of Shawnee; numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Tribal rites will be Thursday evening at the Walker family home. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Wakolee Cemetery.
Walker Funeral Service of Shawnee is directing arrangements.
