Telephone Exchange, Fort Mills, Corregidor Island
Recently this Telephone Exchange in the former Fort Mills on Corregidor Island was discussed in this forum and since I was on Corregidor, showing a friend all this amazing history, I checked it out again.
On 2015-03-15 I looked at the Telephone Exchange or Telephone Central on the 1936 map, again and took these pictures and established this album with 34 pictures. I can confirm the Telephone exchange does have a basement but I did not check it out again. I have pictures of the Basement from a 2009 visit and will upload them later but soon. This telephone exchange is located Topside, of the former Fort Mills on Corregidor. This album has only images from the outside and the three rooms on the ground level. The Basement pictures will follow later. This is the URL for the album:

In this forum presentation I only show 11 images and they are smaller:
V749. This is the Telephone Exchange, in the former Fort Mills, on Corregidor Island in 2005, I added it for comparison purpose.
V750. This is a section of the 1936 Fort Mills on Corregidor Island terrain and facility drawing, you should be able to find the Telephone Exchange, it is called Telephone Central on this drawing.
V751. This is a series of 7 images (in the album) that show the top of the Telephone Exchange, in the former Fort Mills, on Corregidor Island. This series runs clock wise around the exchange, you should be able to indentify some other structures in view.

V753. This is one of nine images (in the Album) that show the west room of the Telephone Exchange, in the former Fort Mills, on Corregidor Island. The exchange has 3 rooms on the ground level. You can see the hole that leads to a basement and it will be covered in another album. This is the door to the west room.
V754. This is one of nine images (in the Album) that show the west room of the Telephone Exchange, in the former Fort Mills, on Corregidor Island. The exchange has 3 rooms on the ground level. This is a hole that leads to a basement and it will be covered in another album. In the future presentation you will see that there were steps that went to this basement. If you look close you can see a tunnel running to the left in the corner of this hole, it was important for the exchange.
V755. This is one of nine images (in the Album) that show the west room of the Telephone Exchange, in the former Fort Mills, on Corregidor Island. The exchange has 3 rooms on the ground level. This is a hole that leads to a basement and it will be covered in another album. At the posts side of this hole it is the basement space running under the exchange, the former steps are at the front side of the exchange. But that will be shown at a later presentation.
V756. This is one of nine images (in the Album) that show the west room of the Telephone Exchange, in the former Fort Mills, on Corregidor Island. The exchange has 3 rooms on the ground level. The west room had a small sub room which may have been the toilet; I am speculating.
V757. This is one of six images that show the middle room of the Telephone Exchange, in the former Fort Mills, on Corregidor Island. The exchange has 3 rooms on the ground level. This room had individual booth for the telephone operators.
V758. This is one of four images that show the east room of the Telephone Exchange, in the former Fort Mills, on Corregidor Island. The exchange has 3 rooms on the ground level. This room may have just served for general purposes; my speculation.
