Thanks for posting, EXO! I thought it was very interesting. It is noted on page 17 that Drum's 14-inch guns were able to hit Japanese troops assembling north of Cabcaben, a distance of over 20,000 yards!

Thanks for posting dad's full report EXO. I sent the link to Ben Spotts who's father served on the Fort with dad. He was very appreciative. Dad's statement about the punishment inflicted on fort personnel doesn't go into the depth of the beating he took that almost cost him his life at the time. The wounds to his brain from the head beating eventually took his life. Richard King - Son of Ben

Wow quite a trove, anyone I can donate to for the effort of making this available ?
Thanks, XRay. The trove is something I have been working on a while. "Trove" is actually a good name for the feature, which currently contains 112 documents. For years, all of us have acquired interesting documents, generally in pdf format. The original program that I used to present these pdf files was an old pirate version of Flipping Book, but that ceased to work for technological reasons when Adobe killed off Flash animation. I put the word out looking for a sponsor so that I could get a legal version of the new program. This was a big ask, because it cost several hundred dollars. After several months, a private benefactor who wanted only to be known as "LTC AND MRS. RWW (R), E/2/503/173 69-70" donated the entire purchase cost. This also enabled me to redo the entire collection of the Vietnam Newsletter library of the 2/503d Infantry Regiment which, at present, comprises 101 copies.
There are several ways that one might choose from to assist.
Perhaps you might like to sponsor a feature.
Our domain sponsors are Steve Foster (503prct.org), Oozlefinch & Beirutvet (corregidor.org), Richard King & Beirutvet (concretebattleship.org), Exo Mxyzptlk & Beirutvet (rockforce.org), Paul Whitman (battleofmanila.org).
It all goes towards the regular outlays that need to be paid to maintain the domains, and the hosting. All up, the collection of websites under my umbrella is approaching .9 Gigaytes. Whatever is not frittered away on website matters, I spend for important things such as wine, women and song.
There are other ways that a person can help, even without sending money. Some of our members have provided really interesting documents for us to add to "the trove." People like John Moffitt, Chad Hill, John Duresky, Peter Parsons, Lou Jurika, Neil Krumbeck, have added interesting reference reading. The trove is a monster, actually, as many of the documents are quite seriously large - and every single one of them takes hours in preparation.
You might want to PM me, at your leisure.
