I saw part of an old movie, "BACK DOOR TO HELL", made in 1964. Featuring a very young Jack Nicholson.
Description on the cable movie channel - " 3 U.S. solders in the Philippines undertake a dangerous mission". It was a low budget film.
But what intrigued me was it showed some scenes of the 503rd dropping on Corregidor. The outline of the buildings on Topside as they dropped was unmistakable.
In what I saw of the movie the solders were to send back some vital information but their radio was knocked out so they had to use a Japanese radio behind enemy lines. Jack was able to send out the info and was killed with the receiver in his hand. His information led to the parachute drop shown of the 503rd dropping on Corregidor. The Movie folks may have just grabbed some footage of an airdrop not knowing who or where it was from. Had not heard of this movie before.
