Victor Verano brought to my attention a series of 23 spectacular images which have been circulating on the net lately, and in his Pinoy History board at pinoyhistory.proboards22.com/index.cgi As part of our 'weaving the best resources of the web together into Corregidor's rich tapestry,' I couldn't let them disappear from view. Here's a sample: That's often the problem with great images - you spot them on a Forum, but when you actually want them some time later, they've gone. Hence, my effort to give the images a permanent address. They have been included in our Archives section, in a series of photographs from Col. George Ruhlen's collection. Some of the images have acquired names which are incorrect, so with Tony Feredo we have accompanied them by correct captions. Giving credit where due, Victor says that Shawn Welch was his source for the images, and that they seem to have been originally from the U.S. Army Casemate Museum. I have some other books in preparation, and the quality of these photographs begs for print reproduction.

Those are really good looking images, Victor. I will see to giving them permanent hosting on the site.
Could you help us all by tellling us how you hot-link the thumbnails into the message as you do?

Hello, I notice that the listing of names includes CPT Caluya, whom I know as Colonel Caluya, a friend of my father COL Olivares. I have posted a message on the 503d Board lacking information on the structure of this particular site. I was born on Corregidor in 1935. I have a photo that has been posted on the Philippine Scout Historical Society Site, of Philippine Scout Officers and thier wives taken in about 1946. Col Caluya is in that photo along with my Mother and Father. If you are interested in getting this photo for your site please advise and I can send either as email attachment or can mail a hard copy. I have several extra copies. edwardcolivares1
