The MacArthur Memorial captions this U.S. Navy Photo "Rear Admiral Bulkeley on the north dock where his PT boat retrieved the MacArthur's on March 11, 1942." I suspect their caption is wrong. However the restoration (ie., demise) of the Lorcha Dock prevents a direct comparison. Here's a 1978 pic, which sure seems to show that Adm. Bulkeley is standing on the Lorcha, not North Dock. Our regulars will recall that Lorcha, having been refurbished and painted with high visibility Aviation Yellow, has now prevented the reoccurrence of an earlier unfortunate episode.
