Hey Guys: My name is J.R. Miller I'm a Nam vet. originally from Tucson Arizona. I am retired and living here in the Bago City Negros Occidental Philippines. My wife Dolly and I have a 5 acre spread that we are now in the progress of making a resort. It is located about 4-500 meters from the famous bago bridge during the Negros invasion. We also own a bus line here and can supply transportation. Need help or just stop by for a cold one. Call or text us 0916-289-0742 or go to the crossing Ubay Lag-Asan and ask directions to John and Dolly Millers place or Tito Johnny's place. Its at Crossing Esing which is about 400 meters then to the right 200 meters on the Ma-ao highway. Cant miss it. My wife Dolly's grandmother was a known fighter in the mountains that was with the Americans in WWII

Welcome, xspook. Like all bulletin boards (if I used "fora", no one would recognize it as the plural of 'forum'), you pretty-much get out of it what you put into it. One of our little group was just down in Negros last week, shame he hadn't known of you earlier. He returned stateside yesterday. His father was with the 503d, and he had been retracing the areas in which the 503d had fought. On one occasion, I'd gone with him, and saw how beautiful Negros could get. The series starts at: www.corregidor.org/heritage_battalion/foster/pages/gps5mile.htmAnyhow, keep listening out for any 503d stories. You'll find a good number of pictures on the site which were taken there. exo

Thanks for the welcome. Too bad I missed the guys. I hear around march of each year some of the vets come around. I found this site about 2 years ago and have read a lot of the pages. If anyone is coming round these parts tell em to contact me from the states it's 011-63-916-289-0742 they can send text messages or call for voice and I will give an email address . I hate posting emails because of the flood of BS that ya get from the scumbags. I have lived here in Bago for 4 years I have a business property along the national highway at crossing Ubay. We run a bus line out of there then I have the resort and my residental property about 800 meters away. I have been coming to the philippines since Vietnam era. I have done business here for about 15 years. My wife has family in the Murcia area and all around Negros. Her family is the Villanueva and Martir family the founders of Bago City in the Spanish era. My wifes grandmother Felicidad Sampullo was a guerilla fighter with the Americans in Antique and saved many American lives. I have great contacts all over Negros Occidental incase someone needs help. I have trusted people and family that can take people to the most remote sections of this island. My wife Dolly ran a logging business for years in the mountains where most of the fighting took place and knows the area very well.

Hello xspook
I saw your post from five years ago, and don't even know if you still visit this site but will try and reach out to you.
You said you were in the process of creating a resort there, Is it up and running now?
Whenever my next visit to the islands is, I would like to stop in and visit, sounds like you have a very interesting family there.
