My grandfather was a corpsman in the South Pacific; he wouldn't talk about it really, and now he is dead. However, he used to cry during an old black and white movie about the evacuation of Corregidor. The medical personnel are using every small craft to evacuate wounded and in one of the last scenes a nurse jumps out of truck, sacrificing herself to the Japanese. Do you know the name of this movie? Do you know of a book recalling the memories of medical personnel? I would appreciate it. My grandfather is Maurice Van Susteren, he is mentioned in an old book called "We Are the Wounded". Where does one find more info? Thank you.
