The recent Manila Bay sinking occurred 2.8 nautical miles nw of Limbones. According to the website, Limbones in the US military reservation area. Did the US Army do anything with Limbones?

There were two fire control stations that the CA used in Limbones.

For some reason I think these will be small 6x6 concrete structures, if we find them we will post a pic. I could easily be wrong. I do see where they were for Batteries Greer and Crofton. Batteryboy what do you think they look like??

Is this island deserted, or is it even inhabitable?

Is this island deserted, or is it even inhabitable? Its deserted as far as I know except for a few Phil Marines who venture into the island for training. I dont know if some fishermen have taken refuge or built shacks there. One day we will find out. I know that lots of activities are going around in the area right now due to the sinking of the ferry.

i lived in Limbones itself for a few years, and the island has really nothing on it, a cement landing place on the bay side,( the only place to land) and just above that steps going up and to the right which then peters out to nothing.. there is no beach there, just cliffs and the landing place, point of note though...lots of oysters are attached to the cement landing place, locals use frequently....
i still have my lot down there but do not frequent that place so much now, as almost everyone has gone. However my brother in law still lives there
