Thanks Karl - it's an interesting series - I certainly hadn't realised that GMA was such a tiny lady. Such is the panoply of power that they bring her Mercedes over, just to drive her up the hill.

THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY RECAPTURING CORREGIDOR IS RECALLED On the 2nd of Mar 1945 General MacArthur presided over the ceremony of recapturing Corregidor. 2005, at many sites, the 60th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Philippines was observed. My Family was invited by the US Embassy Anniversary Project Officer to attend. This album is about the anniversary on the 2nd of March 2005. I uploaded an album then but did not know how to post images in the forum then. 53 images are in this album: tinyurl.com/pevc2jfI post 10 sample images now but they are smaller than in the album: X126.---The two National Flags are raised at the old Spanish Flagpole ,Topside Corregidor Island. X127.---Hurry up and wait! RP Sailors sitting on the steps of the BOQ. X128.---The US Ambassador. Dick Gordon who is a RP Senator now and heads the National Anniversary Committee. Their Helo just landed on the former FT. Mills Parade Ground. X129.---The President of the Philippines arrives. X130.--- The official party is moving to the Pacific War museum. X131.---The National Anthem is being played, (I don't remember whether the American was played also, but it may have been played). My little daughter, as directed, placed her right hand over her heart. X132.--- Band, move, execute!!!!!!!!!! X133.--- It seems most of the paratroopers were Filipinos, at left, two American jumpers are folding their flag X134.--- A short ceremony was held at the Rock Force Memorial. With the President involved it takes many cars. X135.---The 7 gun saluting battery for the 21 Gun Salute for the president.
