The answer to your question; "What is fort mills without its tram and rails ?".......nothing.
For those people living there they no doubt were the life blood of the island. I haven't read much about them and I wonder if there is anything that remains of one. Probably scrapped by the Japanese.
P.S. Love your avatar, would like to see a larger version of it

beirutvet, I think the rail system of fort mills has its own fair share of the islands entirety. Lets not forget that its the major transport mode on that era and it is also the one that helps build the island. Probably not much of a help during Japanese invasion but still you can't deny that it serves well the whole island. P.S. Don't get me wrong when I mentioned that phrase. I was merely referring to the structures at fort mills since Im doing 3D models of it. Agree, no doubt the peoples who served in fort mills were the life and blood of the island and I have total respect to them.

Small update on my 3D modeling. I tried to place some rails on the scene.

Great photos, fots! Just wondering, three of your photos show Filipino soldiers: (1) Battery Grubbs control area, (2) Battery Monja - casemated 155mm gun and (3) Battery Monja - 155mm GPF gun on a Panama mount; which unit did they belong to? PS in CA duties? Thanks!

Good day lacosta,
I suspect you are correct about the Filipino soldiers but unfortunately I do not have my Corregidor information at my finger tips at the moment. I am in the process of moving into a new house and many things are packed...somewhere.
Perhaps batteryboy or someone else can help you out for now. Good luck.

Battery Grubbs was unmanned until C/91st CA (PS) escaped from Bataan. This unit also manned Battery Morrison. Battery Morrison engaged in one artillery dual with the Japanese and lost. There after he guns were unable to fire.
Battery Monja was manned by G/92d CA (PS).

Thanks for the prompt reply, fots and George. It’s amazing to see them (the Philippine Scouts) in action as CA. Prior to this, most photos of the PS that I’ve seen so far are those from the infantry units pre-war and during the opening stages of the battles in Bataan. Thanks again!

Amazing then and now photo. One would never guess that a small town existed on this site. Some of the pathways visible today seem to follow the roads in the old photo.
