... anyone who may have served with my late great uncle Armando "Monty" Bartlett. He had (at one time) "The Rock" patch and served during WWII and Korea.
I would also like to find a patch to replace his, so if anyone can help would be great.
Here is a pic (not that great I know) of the patch he had and one of him with 2 buddies ( Cape and George).

Dear novagal, The picture that you sent is a little small, but certainly that is an early version of The Rock Patch with it. Could you send a larger, sharper version of the picture to paulatwhitmandotcomdotau and I will see that it is linked through this page. I don't have my copy of Return to Corregidor which has a list of those who jumped. (There were, of course, many troopers of the 503d who were on Corregidor but hadn't jumped, so the list is only an indication of the numbers who were there.) There are no lists of all of the troopers on Corregidor. Nor is there a list of all men who were part of the Rock Force. So generally one must look to an analysis of what else is known about the individial trooper. Another indicator might well be that he may have been a member of the Association at some point. Normally I refer names to one of the troopers who is computer literate and he goes through some early membership lists.
What else do you know of his war service? Do you have any ribbon bars - which sometimes give us the info by the number of assault arrowheads..
eXo
