The Corregidor Inn Hotel is closed for renovation On the 7th of Nov 2016 Marine friends and I visited Corregidor Island, the former Fort Mills and now the Pacific War Memorial. We got aware that the Corregidor Inn is closed and were told until Jan 2017. Who knows, maybe thru delays it may be a little later. V363. The Sun Cruises Day Tours to Corregidor continue with the buffet lunch, so the tour guests are fed in this temporary dining light structure out of light metal and plastic. On our tour with my Marine friends we ate here and had a tasty buffet. To me it is amazing how fast and wonderful those plants grew and filled up the ceiling or overhead in this Sun Cruises dining facility, Topside on Corregidor, the former Fort Mills. V364. In this picture it is in operation already. W894. This used to be the Spanish Museum; it got moved into the Lighthouse and then became souvenir shops. Then about 2 years ago the souvenir stalls and to consolidate in the same looking building on the north side of this Lighthouse Plaza. Then on each east end of these two buildings two toilettes (WC or Comfort Rooms) were constructed and I always wondered why. So the renovation of the Corregidor Inn was planned a long time ago and the dining facilities and restrooms had to be build first. Za787. This is the new toilette, or WC or comfort room (for men). This is the building on the south side of the Lighthouse Plaza, shown earlier as image #W894. I was told that it was planned to build a galley in here to support the new Sun Cruises dining facility, Topside on Corregidor Island. But it seems it is just used to prepare the food containers to be taken out to the buffet line in the dining structure, a few feet away. If you any questions about all this you may contact Sun Cruises INC at this URL: www.corregidorphilippines.com/contact.htmlW890. In case you like to stay overnight on Corregidor in spite that the hotel is closed, you could rent or bring your own tent, stay at the former MacArthur Café (Freedom Café now) or stay in the CFI Rowhouse. This picture shows one of the many rooms in the Rowhouse, it has a fan and a bath. It is located on the Stockade Level on Corregidor, half way between Middleside and Bottomside. I paid 700 pesos in 2015. All the information for these activities you can find at this URL: Corregidor Foundation INC (CFI) www.tourism.gov.ph/Pages/Corregidor.aspx

The other vehicles and boats on Corregidor
I mean the others, than the Sun Cruises trolleys and vehicle transportation for the Corregidor Inn guests.
I have often said that Corregidor visitors that come by other boat transportation than the Sun Cruises ferry can rent jeepney, a bus and boats (especially a large one) from the Corregidor Foundation Inc (CFI).
That is false and I stand corrected!
The other vehicles on Corregidor belong and are operated by Prime Square Ent. which also owns the three (3) large big boats (banca) which operate from Corregidor Island to MAAP Pier in Brgy. Alas-Asin, Mariveles.
The Executive Director and Trusty of CFI, LTCOL. Artimo G. Matibag, wrote me the below on the 16th Jan 2017.
Dear Karl, Corregidor Foundation, Inc. (CFI) has no jeepney and buses on Corregidor Island. They are owned and operated by Prime Square Ent. (PSE) who also owned and operates three (3) big boats (banca) from Corregidor Island to MAAP Pier in Brgy. Alas-Asin, Mariveles. Hire is handled by them and just coordinated by Mr. Ron Benadero (CP#0916-3063693)

The shoutbox is limited as to how much can be written. So I repeat here what I wanted to say in the shoutbox in reply to CoastelVougue. Go to this URL and look at the last entry from me, dated 17th Jan 2017, it gives you a name and tel. number. corregidor.proboards.com/thread/150/corregidor-new?page=2 Mr. Ron Benadero is the resident CFI Officer in Charge of Corregidor Island, ask to speak to him! Their boat price is 3500 Peso (for the boat, it has a large capacity) to pick you up at Bataan and bring you back, which means two roundtrips for this boat service. I am sure you can negotiate with them for a one way boat trip to Mariveles.

Z1fots071. Lorcha Dock painted white again from John Moffitt, 11th Apr. 2009. 2017-10-31. Note from Karl: This picture was original posted on page 1 of this thread by fots2 and is now restored there! It was blocked by Photobucket because they changed their terms and caused a lot of damage to many of their customers. It is now hosted at another server! I post it here again to make you aware that a change was made and because fots2 makes great pictures!

Freedom Café on Corregidor Update It has a Facebook page which still uses the old name: www.facebook.com/McArthursCafe/Freedom Café which used to be the MacArthur Café on Corregidor is the place where ordinary island visitors stay and look in. It is located Bottomside, on the north shore, between the North Mine Dock and Malinta Hill. Frequent visitor like to stay there, it is cozy and prices are lower than in the Corregidor Inn Here are some images from that web page: Za524. Corregidor Inn Renovation as of 2018-02-13 Seven Corregidor Friends visited visited Corregidor Island, the ex Fort Mills and now the Pacific War Memorial, between the 13th and 16th of Feb 2018 to commemorate the 73rd Anniversary of the beginning of the Battle of Liberation of this historical island. We checked out the hotel and these pictures were taken. The Inn is still not fully open but Sun Cruises is booking customers. One of our friends decided to take a room and paid an introductory price of 4000 or 4500 peso, including breakfast. He was fed topside because the dining facility is not in operation yet. We utilized the Corregidor Inn transportation about three times to get around and were quoted a price of 500 pesos for one way. In the end we were charged 800 peso because we combined our rides with our friend’s status as a hotel guest going to take his meals Topside of the island. A note of interest, the Sun Cruises Ferry did not run on Tuesday and Wednesday, the 13th and 14th of Feb. 2018 because of weather. All the rooms and bathrooms are done. Several persons asked me about wheel chair customers accessibility, none is provided and could be handled by carrying. I prepared 22 images to show the Corregidor Inn Renovation status and present them in two segments with 11 images each. This is the first segment. Za673.
