Hey Patty....I betcha YOU will lose sleep over it, since it is obvious that you have fallen prey to the dread disease "Rock Fever". As Fots, has so ably testified, "there is no known cure" Rolling and tossing will be a constant companion in coming months. Cheers.

The following is page 2 (of 37) from Rear Admiral Rockwell's Narrative of Naval Activities in Luzon Area, December 1, 1941 to March 19, 1942. It was signed, dated and submitted to Admiral King, C-in-C, US Fleet on August 1, 1942. Admiral Rockwell set up his headquarters inside Queen Tunnel on December 21 and remained there until he was evacuated by PT boat with General MacArthur on March 11. The paragraph titled CORREGIDOR contains an interesting description of Queen and four lateral tunnels. The torpedoes were stored in the laterals, which answers earlier questions about that, although facilities for overhauling and testing the fish were inside the "L-Section of Tunnel Queen which ran at right angles from the inner end of the main tunnel and terminated in the escape entrance overlooking South Harbor". Also interesting is the mention of an unfinished pilot tunnel and the three Roger tunnels, also uncompleted. Unfortunately, it appears no diagrams or photos were included in Rockwell's report.

Hey Chad...Thanks for posting. You seem to have a real knack for "digging up" these gems of information. Or does Patty do the dirty work and you take the credit? LOL. Methinks that I may be on to something here. Thanks again for posting. This is good stuff.

Hi Okla, Yes, I found these (this one and the one from Sackett). It's a lot of fun looking through all the War Diaries for WWII. I've come across interesting little tidbits just in the last week like the daily report for the PBY Squadron in Australia that evacuated some personnel from Corregidor on a 'Special Mission', some of the sub logs that talk about the mine fields around Corregidor ( there are some personal opinions of the use of the searchlight to light up the buoys vs just hanging lanterns or having ships at the places needed) I was looking last night for about 5 hours or so. On a side note, none of the subs that came in or out of Manila past Corregidor during Dec 17-20, mentioned the ship Corregidor's demise. I would have thought there would have been debris to navigate around, at least, the day or two after the explosion and sinking. I asked Chad to post these two because I don't know all the small details he does. All I could say is 'hey look' Patty

Hey Patty...Well, all I can say is these "hey looks" have led to some extremely interesting tidbits for us "geeks" to ponder. The personal comments of these on sight Skippers, etc that are included in written reports to the Brass can be awfully revealing. We fellow "geeks" are fortunate to have you two wading thru this material. I thank you once again. Cheers.
