Another series of images have been added at: The images are photos taken around the "F" Company C.P. after they were withdrawn from atop Battery Hearn following the "Night of 1000 Hours." The images are from the collections of Bill Calhoun and Bill Bailey. They presented a struggle, being in poor condition and requiring extensive retouching. (The better the retouching, the less obvious the need for their being retouched.) The originals were scanned to our archives in 300 dpi format with the assistance of Steve Foster. Here's a sample: Lt. Bill Bailey tests an unusual Japanese Canteen found on Corregidor We have also retired a series of pages, ("The Landing") formerly a stand alone part of the older region of the Heritage Bn., and have reconnected the links to them in a new portion of the continuous Bless 'em All sequences. It may be just a few lines of text here, but it's a few hours of work.

Pages dealing with the 592d Engineer Boat and Shore Regiment, which was one of the key component units of the Corregidor invasion, have been upgraded. This unit lost two men to the Corregidor operation, both at South (then "Black") Beach. Pages dealing with the 34th Infantry Regiment, which was one of the key component units of the Corregidor invasion, have been refurbished. (a) The article "The Surface of the Moon" by Nicholas & William Russiello, is Chapter X of their book "GI in the Pacific War," reproduced on this site by their permission. It is at: (b) The recollections of Lt. Nast who became one of Corregidor's first American "two hour tourists." (c) The article by Paul Cain, one of the Battalion Commanders of the 34th Infantry Regiment on Corregidor.
