Hey Karl
In the heat of battle, adrenaline running high, I can only imagine that with the prospect of a Japanese sniper taking a bead on slow moving G.I.s, you would be inclined to take the steps two at a time as well. That guy is a rifle carrying grunt, probably still in his late teens. Hell, if his legs were long enough I bet he would be taking them 3 at a time. If mine were long enough I know I would!

Gee a P13,888.00 room rate? You can get a good tent for P13,000 and hire someone for P888 to put it up, and be punkah wallah for a day.

Nine Pictures Replaced and a Battery Woodruff image added! Nine pictures have been replaced in this page 18, of this Trip Report of Fort Wint and Grande Island, they had disappeared because of my fault. Here is a sample image: Z757. One of 4 pictures showing Gun #1 of Battery Warwick with two 10 inch Disappearing Guns in the former Fort Wint on Grande Island at about 1967. This picture was shot about 1967 by Charles (Chuck) Thompson a Navy Diver Veteran. ------------------------------------------------------------- Z764. Battery Woodruff, 6 Inch, Fort Wint, this should be No 2 Gun. John Duresky sent this picture of Battery Woodruff and said this is the only photo of any of the disappearing guns which I found in the Britt family things; by chance it's Battery Woodruff, a bit out of focus. John. John Duresky is the researcher of the writing team of the new book “Relentless Hope: A True Story of War and Survival, by David L. Britt” and he sent it to me. I have helped him out with some information and John Duresky is sharing almost all his finds with me. Thank you very much, John.
