Given what ExO said, I think the damage to the concrete on the left of the photo looks very much like the damage to the west side of the trolley bridge near the church.

I was always a little concerned with having things stolen, but I always had my camera and other valuables on me. The only thing I had stolen was my paracord clothesline. Pretty sure it was one of the marathon runners who were there a few years ago. I told him I didn't mind him borrowing it, but when they all left, the cord left with them! Fearing things walking off is definitely a valid concern.

Micha, I always camp when I visit Corregidor as well. It's been a long time since they have allowed camping anywhere other than the beach and I personally never got to experience camping anywhere else. The last time I went was in the summer of 2018 and they increased the price to 100 pesos a night. (This was a very recent change at that time) I've not had any guides following me before, but guards try and make sure you're at the camping area after a certain time at night. Other than that, I was able to do mostly whatever I wanted. Malinta was closed for some reason, but the airshafts are always an option.

Hey Karl,
I was on Corregidor this past summer and I also noticed the price hike. Although I didn't have to pay the fuel charge at that time, the price on the boat had increased and so did the overnight camping fee. It's unfortunate that the price has gone up so high. It used to be quite reasonable. That extra 2000 for the fuel charge is fairly frustrating.

Does anyone have a photo of Monja from a different angle? I noticed a pock mark on the right side of the ceiling from the NA photo. I think it would be easier to say Monja with certainty if there was a matching mark.
I didn't get to Monja on my last trip and last I was there, I had no flash on my camera, so I have no such photo.

Hopefully they don't block off the air shafts to the hospital complex. Those were always my preferred means of entering Malinta anyway.

This is fantastic news. I was really dreading the prospect of re-hosting all my photos and then embedding them all one by one. I personally think $20 is reasonable. Well, almost anything is reasonable compared to the $500 previously listed.
Now if only we could get lodging on Corregidor for 96% off the current posted prices!

I have noticed that my photos have disappeared as well. I don't have any where near as many photos as some others on this forum and I'm quite annoyed at how much time I wasted trying to embed all these images only to have them go away, so I can only imagine the frustration of others. I haven't looked into it much, but are there no other sites that will let us embed our images here for free?

Hey beirut,
I was also under the impression that these cottages were not in use, but when I was there a little over a year ago they had the Corregidor marathon and the entire island was booked, including the buildings in the 92nd Garage area. I think the horrible exterior of the cottages makes the area look more run down than it actually is.
Part of me wanted to believe that what they had built at such a historic location had failed just to spite them, but I suppose if they ruined that area historically it's good that it's at least being used for something else.
