There were more than a few that lost their sanity. Japanese soldiers feared pow's who went insane. They thought they were possessed or some such nonsense. My father knew a couple of pow's who faked insanity and were never bothered by t he guards who gave them a wide berth.

I have no idea how many or what photos reside on my hard drive. Yesterday I was looking for one in particular and ran across two post war photos of Corregidor so I placed them on my desktop. These might be old hat and recognizable photos to this group but I am posting them regardless. You experts should recognize their locations. One more to follow in the next post. Attachments:

I really have no idea if the other Forts were manned from Corregidor prior to the war. I have to assume that they were after the war began. If a complete roster of those surrendered on Corregidor ever surfaces, I don't don't if the men manning other Island forts will be included. I don't feel like reading Mortons book again to find out if it is even discussed. One of the surviving Corregidor POW's may have the answer.

It's hard to believe that Japs were still coming out of that tunnel a year after the war ended. If so, there must have been a tremendous amount of food stored. Can you imagine spending a year down there living the life of a rat?

Glad you discovered the truth and I'm sorry I passed along some invalid information.

I am ordering Rosetta Stones Mandarin just in case. As far as Red China goes, I'd have to say that it looks good on a white table cloth.
