There was a TV report last year about a tunnel discovered along EDSA. Maybe it's a part of this tunnel complex. They were planning to further investigate and document the said discovery but there was no follow-up report made. Could be some cover-up for treasure hunting.

My grandma gave us old 1 peso coins (dating back to 1905 and so on) as some of our inheritance. I was told that my grandpa recovered them from Subic bay thru diving. Now my imaginations run wild. Those coins could've been from the POWs of Oryoku Maru. Or they could've been from the salvage operations off Caballo Island and was supposedly bound for Japan. Each grandchildren were given 3 coins. A total of 30 coins. Why did grandpa had a dive in Subic bay, I wish I had asked him. This forum is a treasure trove of information about my interests in WWII. Amazing website.

I think the numbers are in Kilometers. From Zero Km to Balanga arc is around 41 kilometers only, around 45 to the city, i guess. The picture might be in the vicinity of Cabcaben or Mt. View Village, could be at the fork on the road. I grew up in Mariveles and never seen that road sign. I'll try to take a picture of the vicinity when my car gets fixed. Or may be some one could beat me on it.

Maybe some Japs showed brutality during hostilities. My grandfather told me that the Japs did not harass them or showed something bad considering that some of them looked like Americans.

Seems like many of us here did catch a virus. I was also having some cough and cold last week. Time to take in more Vitamin C.

Does anyone here know or have some references about the names on the Battling Bastards memorial in Capas Tarlac? I saw two names which may be related to my family. Could have been my great great grandpa or great great grand uncle or great grand uncle. My great great grandfather was a foreman or supervisor in the Mariveles quarry before the war. I was told by my grandfather about that but I had not ask him his name. Too bad, I wasn't able to extract a lot of information from my grandfather before he kicked his bucket. The names on the wall are:
Monroe George H S/SGT Monroe Joseph E PVT
Any info would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

I've seen this on several websites presented as an authentic Death March photo, but something about it strikes me as a reenactment. Any comments? Hello, Sirs. The photo is staged. The Filipinos look healthy. I thought the soldiers are starving in Bataan for months. That's my opinion
