#012 is a view of constructing a new Main Gate Bridge from the Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ) to Magsaysay Drive in Olongapo and it is shot from the Shoe Mart Mall Olongapo Downtown.
------------------------------------------------------
#043 photo.
#043 & 044 is a Naval Ship moored in the former Ship Repair Facility (SRF).
---------------------------------------------------------
#049 photo.
#049 to 051 are images of a section of the Barrio Barretto Bypass road being built next to the Aeta Community Alibang.
--------------------------------------------------------------
#054 is the Hell Ships Memorial build by donations and the building was executed by retired Naval Personal and Civilians. It is located right in front of the former (Naval) and Present (SBFZ) management Head Quarter. I showed a friend around.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
#055 is the former boat landing for Korean personnel of the former Hanjin Shipyard. The place is now in American Investors hands and the north part became a Philippine Naval Operating Base (NOB). And the place is now called Aguila, formerly USMC Green Beach.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
#78 photo.
#076 to 078 are views of constructing a new Main Gate Bridge from the Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ) to Magsaysay Drive in Olongapo and they are shot from the Shoe Mart Mall Olongapo Downtown.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
#088 this is along the National Road running thru Barrio Barretto, apparently some kind of internet cable is being laid here. This is a section of the road between Driftwood Beach and the Police compound; called 164 by the people here, maybe a unit number long gone.
---------------------------------------------------------------
#089 is Driftwood Beach in Barrio Barretto. We can see a MSC ship and Grande Island in the bay.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
#106 photo
#107 photo.
#106 to 112 are views of the Marikit Park in the center of Olongapo and next to the new SM City Mall Olongapo Central, two pictures were shot from the mall. A Navy Jet is part of the park; the park has a covered area now and has nice trees and plants.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#114 photo.
#114 & 115 are two pictures of a recent road repair on the Zambales Highway, exactly at Kalaklan Point, the last or first curve (350 meters distance) as one enters or exits the former Subic Naval Base, now the Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ). A broken deep culvert drainage pipe had troubled this road section for years.
------------------------------------------------------------------
#126 photo.
#116 to 128 are views of another repair, or rather a widening and stabilization project of the road embankment on the Zambales Highway, about 800 meters from the Kalaklan Gate, towards Barrio Barretto. One benefit gained from this project is one has now an unrestricted view of the bay of Subic Bay from this repaired road section. Two US Naval military logistic support ships (MSC) are in view, they “park” here often.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#136 photo.
#135 & 136 are views of the near completion, rebuilding the Main Gate Bridge, from the former Naval Base into Olongapo City. That bridge is now called Magsaysay Bridge and should be open soon again after about 4 years plus construction work.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
#137 photo.
#137 & 138 are views of a new hotel, beachside and just 200 meters passed the Maquinaya Bridge, as one enters Barrio Barretto, coming from the Naval Base.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#139 photo.
#139 is the location of the former Subic Naval Base Officer Boat Landing; it is now used as boat landing for boats going to the Grande Island Resort. It just received a new cover.
------------------------------------------------------------------
#142 is the youngest and biggest barracks of the former Subic Bay Naval Base and it is being renovated. At our departure, it, the other smaller barracks and the Navy Lodge with the swimming pool became the Subic International Hotel. The location of the swimming pool still exists but it was closed due to no utilization and you would not be able to recognize it now, overgrown.
