Corregidor South Shoreline between Monkey Point and the Low-Dip 2013-01-15

John and I wanted to go the Corregidor Tailend this day. He is in contact with a 1942 Defender and John wanted to find the position of that defender. I only wanted to walk to Hooker point again because it was low tide. Just east of the Kindley Air Field we found a line that led down to the beach and we followed it.

2003-Dec.-11 Corregidor Tailend South Shore from Monkey Point to the Low Dip, just arrived at the Low-Dip. This was the 1st time for me at the Tailend and my brother in law and I forced our way down to the south beach just passed the Kindley Air Field.

Hooker Point, Corregidor island, posted 2013-02-05

While John proceeded with his project I continued on to Hooker Point on this 15th Jan. 2013-Feb.

Hooker point is another difficult place to get to. The trail to the Tailend is marginal, if you even can find it and at high tide it is separated from Corregidor East Point. I only been there once, we had low tide so I went for it. The views are great from there. This special album of the Hooker Point, Corregidor, was established here with 58 images:

CORREGIDOR ISLAND TAILEND SW SHORE FROM THE LOW-DIP TO THE EAST POINT

On 15th Jan 2013 fots2 and I walked to Hooker Point and these are the pictures from the Low Dip (fots2 calls it the Cut) to the East Point. The pictures are in the order they were shot from the Low Dip to the East Point. The 19 images from this section of the SW shore, Corregidor Island are in this album:

CORREGIDOR ISLAND TAILEND NE SHORE FROM THE EAST POINT TO THE LOW-DIP ON THE NORTH-EAST SIDE

On 15th Jan 2013 fots2 and I walked to Hooker Point and these are the pictures from the East Point to the Low Dip, (fots2 calls it the Cut). The pictures are in the order they were shot from the East Point to the Low Dip along the north-east side. The 34 images from this section of the NE Tailend shore, Corregidor Island are in this album:

One important goal for fots2 was to look at this particular section of the Corregidor shore line because he was in contact with a veteran who had his position on the ridge of this section in 1942. We did not find anything that may have been a defense position. One thing fots2 and I learned is that the laws of erosion have taken a great toll, especially in this part of the island.

Z445-We just started and left the East Point, in the distance is Razor Island.



Z446-Fots2 was of the opinion it would be very hard to get on top of the ridge but in this section I think it would be possible.

Z448-This day we did not go up but we had been up here before and I had come from the other side. And as today, then we also did not see anything that may have been a defense position.



Z449-I just walked passed the Low Dip and shot a picture of it.



Z450-Coming from the Low Dip I am ascending onto the Corregidor Tailend ridge and trail, this shot is down on the trail that runs across the Low Dip to and from either side.



Z451-Fots2 is doing some maintenance on his shoe while sitting at the trail that runs across the Tailend at the Low Dip.



Z452-Fots2 is following me on the Corregidor Tailend trail as we are heading back for a cold beer. Both he and I like this particular scene of the island.

Officer Beach 2018-04-06

Officer Beach, a revisit, my friend Mike Ross pointed out a trail that went to the Officer Beach on Corregidor Island, the former Fort Mills. This trail runs along a ridgeline that divides the Officer Beach, then it descends to the Officer Beach Road from there are steps all the way down to the beach. I checked out the beach, the bath houses, the steps, and some sections of the road and established this album with 38 images. This is the URL:

On this visit I walked only a short section of the Officer Beach Road. A few years ago fots2 and I walked the whole length and saw a few small tunnels but I missed them on this walk.
