Having worked in radio the last twenty years I have to ask...does anyone have any other photos of this radio station? Inside or out, pre-war or post? Thank you and forgive me for going off topic.

Though it is off-topic, I do think it is a great opportunity for you to create a fresh new topic about the RADIO STATION area. I do recall seeing a pic in my archive a few days ago, and can use it to get your fresh topic up to an interesting speed.
So can you repost your query, and then I'll do the housekeeping to host the image.

NO need to apologize, Ironman, ...you have done nothing wrong! What you have raised -- it's a great question, and promises be a good starter of another thread. Sometimes, when threads get very long, and particularly when they go off on a very interesting tangent about something which deserves a thread of its own, we get a lot of good stuff, which is hidden down the bottom of page two or three - which actually deserves to be at the head of its own class. I do have a photo of the radio station building somewhere, and in the course of looking for it, I actually found something else. Going back to the "original flag pole" thing, I had been working in the background on putting a whole bunch of photos on the site. Things like this take loads of time - some features take a year, working behind the scenes. (eg The Wester Collection.) I only 'found' this photo today - another case of something being hidden in plain sight, but you only notice it when you start looking for it. Anyhow, here it is as a 'teaser' for the Calhoun Collection as well as an exclamation mark for this thread.

Ironman, I have been to this radio station only once. At the time I was with a few guys and we were on our way somewhere else.
The four walls of the building are still standing. I remember some broken ceramic insulators lying around. The concrete pedestals for the big towers also remain.
I don’t have photos of there now but I will get them for you in a month or two I would expect.

The pole near Radio #1, we believe was used as the original flag pole, is visible between Radio #1 and the west end of the parade ground in other corregidor.org images. Here is 3 more images with that pole and there are more! Finding it will be our project next month, weather permitting. Found this one misfiled under "typical jump area, old officers's qtrs." Looks to me like a flag is hanging off that pole on the right. So, yes.

Are these the same 2 poles in question above? The west side 2 big poles? Or are these new poles?

I think the pole furthest from camera has the flag on it. When I zoom in on it, the edges are irregular, wider than the pole itself.

Hi Dan, With the information in this post we were able to determine a reasonably accurate location of the original flagpole and planned to have a look for it when we next returned to Corregidor. That trip ended yesterday. Karl and I walked to the west of the Topside Parade Ground a few days ago to see if anything remains of that big wooden pole. Within a few minutes of starting our search, Karl pointed over to something and sure enough, it was large jagged splinters of a wooden pole sticking up out of a concrete base. There is nothing similar in the immediate area so we are confident that this is what remains of the original flagpole. The location of the pole turned out to be almost exactly where we expected it to be. If you wish, it is an easy place to visit when you come to Corregidor. We cleared away the bushes, leaves and branches away from the pole and took these photos: While in the area, I took some more photos of Radio Station #1 for ironman. On the way back to Bottomside I got a few photos of Radio Station #2 also. I’ll post them all soon.
